The Beloved Community - MLK Jr.

10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Dogwood Branch

Description

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History Month, the Dogwood Branch Library is encouraging members of Grove Park and the surrounding communities to write Valentine's letters and make Valentine's day cards to share with neighborhood seniors letting them know that we both see and value them. A beloved community is where everyone takes care of each other and may thrive, and this is a positive and small step towards making this so. Supplies for writing letters and sending cards will be available at the Dogwood Branch Information Desk. This event is open to those 4 - 18 years old. However, adults who wish to take part may do so.

*Parents or guardians must accompany children. There will be a drop-off box for cards and letters available in the library from January 30 - February 14.
