About Tony:

Tony Smart is a fine arts photographer and artist. His love for art began at age seven and has become his life-long journey ever since. He’s a graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, where he received a BFA in fine art. The focus of his art is the interaction of the African American experience and its legacy in America. He states, “In my work, I seek to have a conversation about the duality of what it means to be African and what it means to be African American.” Tony attempts to explore this from numerous angles and perspectives. He hopes his art will become a springboard for a broader dialogue about the past, present, and future of his race.
