Ask the Social Worker is a designated time frame when a Social Worker will be available in the library to provide walk-in services for patrons. During this time, they can assist with applying for SNAP benefits, housing referrals, completion of Coordinated Entry assessment for housing, MARTA passes for appointments and job interviews only, reactivating Social Security Income Direct Express cards, issuing homeless verification letters, referral for rental assistance (if available) and Homeward Bound programs for possible bus tickets home for the patrons.
Also during this time, we can share community information regarding food bank locations, shower times and locations, organizations that allow patrons to receive mail delivery, obtain identification, and a local furniture bank.
