Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826) was an American Founding Father and the third President of the United States, serving from 1801 to 1809. He is best known as the primary author of the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson was a leading figure in the American independence movement and a vocal proponent of democracy, republicanism, and natural rights.
There will be multiple books on the subject on display to be checked out by patrons who wish to join the discussion or just learn more about the subject matter. The History Book Club will discuss Thomas Jefferson and his role in shaping the United States in the beginning and currently.
As always, we will have refreshments for participants and a short film prior to discussion.
