This thought-provoking session centers the voices of Black women who have carved space within the academy to define and advance Hip Hop Studies. The discussion will reflect on the panlist’s journeys as scholars, artists, and cultural critics navigating the intersections of gender, race, and rhythm. The discussion illuminates how their work moves Hip Hop scholarship from the margins to the center, amplifying the intellectual and creative labor of Black women in the field.
