This month we're exploring the cinema history that inspired the makers of "Andor".
"You're in it now, up to your neck!" We finish the series with 1961's "The Guns Of Navarone". A large contingent of British soldiers are stuck on an island unable to be rescued due to the massive German artillery emplacement on the cliffs of the island of Navarone. Bombardment has failed and a near-suicidal commando raid is the only hope for taking out the guns so the Royal Navy can approach. This thrilling tale can be seen in "Andor"'s raid on Aldhani, as well as the battle of Scarif and other Star Wars stories of a handful of rebels taking on a seemingly insurmountable enemy.
May the Force be with you.
