From 2017 to 2023, Eric Sponberg and Arliss Ryan sailed around the world in their 35-foot sailboat, S/V Corroboree. The voyage covered 32,000 miles, and their adventures (and misadventures!) included dodging hurricanes and lightning storms, sailing among tropical islands and along dangerous coasts, meeting dolphins and whales, and stargazing during magical nights far out at sea. Ashore, they visited rainforests, historic places, big cities and the Australian Outback, and they went on South African safaris.
Best of all, they met generous people from an array of cultures and from all walks of life who helped and enlightened them along the way.
A Q&A session will follow the talk. The blog of their voyage, “The Old Woman and the Sea,” is at www.arlissryan.com/blog
