Doula Education Series

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Metropolitan Branch

Description

This four-part, hands-on education series is designed for individuals and families who want a clear understanding of what it truly takes to go from thinking about pregnancy to confidently caring for a newborn. Led by a birth/postpartum doula, Shauncee “Shauny” Lewis, the series walks participants through every stage—preconception, pregnancy, labor, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

Sessions include practical teaching on preparing the body for pregnancy, what to expect during each trimester, labor and birth education, postpartum healing, and essential newborn skills such as diapering, swaddling, bathing, feeding, safe sleep, and car seat safety. Each class combines education, demonstrations, and open discussion to ensure participants leave informed, prepared, and empowered.
