A River Runs Through Us: Stories from Georgia Watersheds with speaker Gordon Johnston

Join us for a special program from author Gordon Johnston, a Georgia Humanities Circuit speaker. A narrative performance blending ecology, history, and personal story to explore how Georgia’s waterways shape memory, community, and imagination across generations. This program is supported by the Friends of the Ponce Library.

Gordon Johnston, author of the short story collection Seven Islands of the Ocmulgee -- River Stories and of two collections of poems, Scaring the Bears and Where Here Is Hard to Say, and co-author of a nonfiction guide to Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park, performs story excerpts, mini-essays, and poems that describe Georgia rivers and the practical, spiritual, historical, and mythical roles they have played in the lives of people who have settled along their banks.
