Be sure to look up the graphs, charts and photos on They are pretty funny!
McCreary makes a point of saying that there is no autist-ish. Either you're autistic or you're not.
I don't believe it.
I think every single one of us is autistic. Each of us miss social cues in some manner, in some situations. Each of us are over-stimulated or under-stimulated (definition of introvert: over-stimulated; definition of extrovert: under-stimulated).
But some people's compensations are more atypical, extreme or annoying than others, and need more adjustments from the people around them.
But then. Maybe I've just never gotten a diagnosis, eh?

Small town Ontario has a new comedic sensation: 20-something year old Michael McCreary from Orangeville! McCreary has toured all over Canada doing stand-up comedy, and his book, Funny, You Don’t Look Autistic is a snapshot of his life growing up with the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through anecdotes, life lessons, and experiences, McCreary shares what regular interactions in school and outside of school are like for someone with ASD.

A witty and educational book for those on the Autism spectrum and off. Recommended to young readers with ASD, or anyone looking to learn more about one person’s lived experiences, in a light and enjoyable format.
