Downloadable Louis L'Amour Sampler

For decades the name Louis L'Amour was synonymous with paperback western fiction. While many of these stories are dated in their depictions of race and gender, they are worth a read for fans of the western genre and students of American literature and popular culture. L'Amour influenced generations of writers, and his influence can be read today in the works of writers like Tom Clancy, John Grisham, and James Patterson. If you are a fan of westerns, consider Louis L'Amour short stories like snacks, where Zane Grey novels are full meals. While only the first volumes of the Willie Nelson and Big Country audio versions of Louis L'Amour stories are represented on this list, don't worry! The entire runs of these audio plays are available on hoopla. Library patrons of a certain age may have first heard these aired on country music radio stations late at night. To download these works to your favorite device, install the hoopla or Libby app! You'll need your library card number and PIN/password. If you have not changed your PIN/password, it is CHANGE ME. Atlanta Public School students and employees can also log in as part of CLASS PASS with their student ID or Lawson number.
