The Outsiders

You'll enjoy these titles because: The Outsiders is a YA novel about friends, family, and class wars in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1960's. S.E. Hinton was just 16 years old when she wrote the book! Her first five novels all center around the same time period and place. The Outsiders is a beloved classic that has been adapted into a 1983 film. That starred many up and coming actors such as C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, and Patrick Swayze. The book was recently turned into a Broadway musical. The musical is on tour and will be playing at the Fox Theatre from November 25-30. So now is the time to read the book and watch the film to remind yourself of the battle between the Greasers and Socs. Enjoy!
