A Thousand Beginnings and Endings
15 Retellings of Asian Myths and Legends
For AAPI Heritage Month 2024, Kirkwood Library's display pays homage to Asian-American, Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander authors. We honor fiction and non-fiction literary works written by the indigenous, diasporic and displaced peoples of this heritage born or living in America, Hawaii, or the Pacific Islands, as well as cultural accounts from their ancestral territories. This list includes stories from the Pacific Islands, West, East, South, Southeast, and Central Asia, so that the young ones among us, both inside and outside these communities, may find their stories and maybe learn and consider something wildly exciting and new! Curated by Library Associate Maya P as an installment within an ongoing CCC (Curated Cultural Collection) series.
